Amazing Christmas Events In Sussex for You and Your Children!

It's coming up for that most wonderful time of the year once again! Hopefully this year is looking a lot more like Christmas than last year. To help you get in the Christmas spirit here are some amazing things to do near to us at Toddlers Inn for you and your children. If we've forgotten anything please feel free to add to the comments section at the end of this post!


Ignite: Fire & Fantasy at Nymans

This winter, experience the enchanting effects of fire, light and lanterns throughout the garden at Nymans. Set against a gloriously romantic backdrop, Nymans, West Sussex, has a garden made for garden lover’s. It’s a place where creativity has flourished and quirkiness is celebrated. So it’s no surprise that the cherished grounds form the perfect setting for this new, after-dark illuminated trail, where you wander between flickering flames and majestic trees – from one amazing space to another.


Expect the unexpected - glimpse fleeting fairies, spot fiery fish and dragons ablaze. Spot woodland wildlife sculpted in willow with fairies dancing in the trees as you stroll through the walled garden into an enchanting landscape filled with wonder.

Lit by lanterns, wander between flickering flames and majestic trees - from one amazing space to another.

Within this fiery interpretation of stars and spheres, illuminated flora and fantasy, there are moments of reflection and playful discovery set to a soundscape that will inspire and intrigue.

The hour-long discovery trail has been specially designed for visitors of all ages to enjoy. The great outdoors made magical.


Blackberry Farm Christmas

Here is what is happening down on the farm!:


‘Tis the season to be jolly… Christmas fun at Blackberry Farm Park!


Santa will be visiting the farm this year and sessions are bookable through the website below. There are also on arrival tickets available at £8 per child. (Gift included). This amazing event is happening every weekend in December and during the holidays in the lead up to Christmas.


While you are at the farm you can also solve the Christmas Word Trail and children will all receive a small treat. For parents you can treat yourself to a Mince Pie, Mulled Wine or Hot Chocolate from the brand new Blackberry Cafe.


Christmas at Bluebell Railway!

There are two main events happening at Bluebell Railway this Christmas.

1, Brighten up the chilly winter evenings with a seasonal lights spectacular! Sparkle, glow and shimmer on a magical steam train covered by thousands of colourful lights that illuminate the dark landscape as you journey. With festive displays, music and narration, this is a steam train experience not to be missed!

2, Nothing stops Santa visiting the Bluebell Railway! After the successful season last year, the railway are offering another wonderful, safe and enjoyable festive experience with all the traditional sights, sounds and aromas of Christmas. Board your train in your own private compartment for a safe and enjoyable journey

with mince pies and chocolate coins for everyone on board! You will then get to visit Santa in his parlour with an opportunity for a photo. Every child will be able to collect a special present from Santa’s Workshop

Pick a Christmas Tree at Wilderness Wood!

Wilderness Wood is famous for its Christmas Trees. Families have been coming for decades to choose a tree either from the beautiful field or pre-cut from the festive courtyard.


Wilderness Wood will start selling Christmas Trees from November 27th 2021. If you are keen to choose and cut-your-own tree in the field, you will need to book a slot to come on the 27th or 28th November as they can only sell a limited number of trees from the field each year.


The After-Dark Illuminated Winter Woodland Walk at Bedgebury!


Visit Bedgebury at the most wonderful time of the year when over a million lights, twinkling reflections and seasonal sounds will fill the air with festive fun! Look forward to some together time with family and friends, as you discover sparkling tunnels of light, dancing lakeside reflections and trees drenched in jewel-like colour. Don’t forget to glimpse Father Christmas along the way!


Enjoy tasty seasonal treats at the Bedgebury café or a delicious twist from the crew of talented street food vendors. Have yourself a holly, jolly Christmas and complete your walk under the stars with a spiced winter warmer or hot chocolate shared with someone special.


Experience the magic of Drusillas Christmas!

Watch little eyes twinkle with wonder as they experience the glistening magic of Drusillas Christmas! Come and meet Santa among the shimmering lights, get nose-to-nose with the cuddly huskies in the Ice Cave, stroll through the twinkling Tunnel of Lights, and marvel at the spectacular 24ft Christmas tree whilst enjoying a glass of mulled wine and a marvellous mince pie! And don't forget you'll need to book your Santa tickets online in advance!


Leonardslee Illumnated Walk!

Walk through the beautiful grounds of Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens as they come to life with spellbinding illuminations, large scale projections, music and theatrical performances. You can book a start time from 4.15pm to 8pm.The trail takes 60 to 90 minutes to explore as you experience the gardens awash with light, sound, colour and festive cheer on a crisp Winter evening! Feast on wonderful seasonal food and drink before or after the trail, enjoy the thrill of our funfair rides and buy gifts from our Christmas Market.


Glow Wild 2021 at Kew Wakehurst!

Let the magic begin...

The enchanting winter lantern trail is back for its eighth year, and it's packed full of surprises. As darkness falls, the gardens are brought to life with glowing lanterns, mesmerising projections, immersive soundscapes, and glistening torches of fire. This will be an unmissable evening of winter wonder and marvel including the UK's largest natural screen, to the tallest living Christmas tree adorned with 1,800 lights.


Visit Santa’s Grotto at Tulleys Christmas Experience

Bring your family to enjoy a magical and unique Christmas experience for all ages! Created by the same award winning team that brought you the Tulleys Halloween Festivals and Escape Rooms. The Christmas Experience is set within the beautiful woodland grounds of Tulleys Farm.


Raystede Centre Christmas Fair!

Hosted by Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare, two jam packed days of festive food, drinks and gifts; all with an animal theme!


Bentley Miniature Railway Santa Special Train Ride!

Bentley Miniature Railway will be running Santa Special Train Rides this year.

Your journey will start at the reception where you will receive a complimentary drink (tea/coffee) alongside other festive treats at a small additional cost. Your dedicated Elf will then escort you to the brightly decorated train, transporting you to Santa’s Grotto, where you will meet Santa and children receive an early Christmas present! You will then conclude your visit with a return train trip.


It's Christmas in Burgess Hill!

Visit the Burgess Hill Christmas light switch on Saturday 20th November. Light switch on is at 5pm and this is also a free event!
