Autumn has arrived and the nights are getting longer, which can only mean one thing - Halloween is just around the corner! If you're on the lookout for some spooktacular Halloween fun for you and the little ones, check out these exciting Halloween events happening in Sussex this year.
Poynings pumpking patch
Popular pick-your-own Poynings Pumpkin Patch is to open its fields once again this year ahead of Halloween 2023 celebrations. Poynings Pumpkin Patch’s opening hours are 10am to 4pm.
Tulley’s Pick Your Own Pumpkin Festival
Perfect for families, team days out, or even a first date, there's something truly memorable about picking your own pumpkin. You can even bring the dog!
Much more than just a field of glowing orange pumpkins! Your adventure starts in the "Pumpkin Village" where you'll discover delicious Street Food, incredible Doughnuts and Sweet Treats or sit back and relax in "The Pumpkin Bar" where you can soak up the autumnal atmosphere with your favourite drink.
During your visit keep an eye out for the "Pumpkin Folk", who really bring the Village to life.
If shopping's your thing, pop into "The Pumpkin Boutique" and browse our seasonal range of gifts and merchandise.
In the heart of the Village stands the "Pumpkin House", an actual life size house made of Pumpkins! One of the many picture-perfect backdrops for you to take awesome pictures that'll you treasure forever.
The perfect opportunity to pick your own pumpkin with over 100 different varieties, which you can decorate your porch, carve goulish faces or make a pumpkin pie!

They have “sugar’n’spiced” things up this year with the perfect event for all little monsters. Brace yourselves for some innovative, interactive family-fun as you tip-toe into the mystical ‘Little Boo Barn’
Meander through the weird and wonderful, experiencing giggles and thrills on the way! Join in with singing pumpkins and enjoy a not-so-scary Halloween adventure for your teenie-Halloweenies.
Is it a trick, or a treat? Be prepared to oohhh and ahhh at our mystic-magicians in the daily magic shows.
Dare to ride the mysterious Ghost Tunnel? It’s a funny, but spooky ride with an educational twist!
Too cute to spook? Please don’t worry if you’re not the Halloween kind – there will be lots of other half-term fun on offer this school holidays. Jump aboard the Fishers Express train; come and give the cute farm animals some warm and friendly cuddles in the Animal Encounters Barn; or dare to take the leap from the high jump at Skyfall.
Blackberry Farm Park – 21st of October to the 29th of October
This Halloween the activities at Blackberry Farm Park include a Scarecrow Trail Tractor Ride! Look out for letters along your journey they will make a Halloween word. At the end of the ride tell the driver the anagram to receive a treat.
There is an all ages Pumpkin Barn where you can choose the perfect Halloween pumpkin for £5.75 per pumpkin. They can also offer Pumpkin carving– for just £10.75 you can pick your pumpkin, draw the face and carve with the team. Take home your very own carved pumpkin without having to clean up the mess (A parents dream!)
The Bump in the Night Barrel Ride will also be running each day. Brave the bump in the night barrel bug ride. Riders must be over 3 years old and have their own seat.
If that isn’t enough already, there is also have a spooky egg hunt in the Mystery Maze. Look for the hidden Halloween-themed eggs in order to win a trick OR treat!
Spooky Face painting will be available each day, pricing to be confirmed.
Drusillas Park Shriek Week 2023- October half term
Always one of the favourite Halloween Events in Sussex for little ones, there is so much going on, including pumpkins and decorations all over the park and a selection of Halloween sweet treats. There is Haunted Heights which is a live-action haunted house experience. Full of cobwebs and hocus pocus. Goulish face painting is also available. Mungo the mummy is waiting to meet you in the terror maze. On selected dates, there is also a sugar skull witch gliding around the park.
Borde Hill Gardens – Halloween Whodunnit Trail- Half Term
This Halloween half term, bring your family to a spooktacular costume party at Foolish Mortal Mansion. Don your creepiest outfits and come along if you dare… it’s going to be a Halloween party to remember!
Young witches and wizards can explore the Garden on a daily story trail, helping Detective Snoop discover what happened to Sir Dangerous Powers, the owner of Foolish Mortal Mansion. He was found laying face down on the dance floor… but is he really dead?
Along the way, meet some of the dubious characters who live at the Mansion and find out ‘whodunnit’! You’ll also discover interactive games and family-friendly activities that will keep you entertained every step of the way.
On selected days, visit Miss Cosmic Powers in her spooky laboratory to say the magical word to receive a prize.
The trail is suitable for children aged 3 to 8 years old and takes place in the Garden.
Sharnfold Farm – Spooktober Halloween – Half Term
Join in on the farm trail this Halloween to help find the scarecrows out on the farm, as well as a spooky Maize Maze to navigate!
Add on a pumpkin carving experience, for your opportunity to create a spooky pumpkin to take home. Please note, our pumpkin carving is time slotted, so you’ll need to select the time you want to carve at checkout. Your ticket is valid on the farm from 9-4.
Sharnfold Farm’s Farm Trail is designed to let your imagination run wild! Get back out into nature and get creative. We’re open 9-4, with so much to do.
